Jigisha Naidu, a lecturer by profession, is the Head
of the Department of Commerce, Management & Computer Department at Hislop
College, Nagpur.
Born
and brought up in Nagpur, is the eldest amongst 3 children of Dr. Shyamsundar
and Shakuntala Sharma who originally hail from Rajasthan. She has done her
schooling from Mount Carmel School and higher education from Hislop College,
Nagpur.
Jigisha
is happily married, spanning over 16 years, to Roopesh Naidu and they are blessed
with 2 sons - Aryan aged 15 and Aradhya aged 12 years.
From
professional and higher education aspect, Jigisha has done Masters in Computer
Management followed by M. Phil, MBA and M.Com. She has also successfully
cleared her UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship examination. She is also persuing her Doctoral Research in Human Resource Management in BPO Industries.
Her
tryst with Rotary activities began when she was assigned the role of Teacher
In-Charge of Rotaract Club of Hilsop College. Her dedication and direction has
taken Rotaract Club of Hislop College to the pinnacle of success with two back
to back annual awards as the best Rotaract Club of Nagpur by the flagship
Rotary Club Nagpur.
Jigisha
regularly spearheads various student oriented forums and programs at Hislop
College vis-à-vis Students Placement, Cultural Programs, Performing Arts,
National Seminars, etc. With excellent command over English, Hindi, Marathi and
a good voice, Jigisha is always the first choice to compere important events of
the college. Is a regular panelist guest on various chat shows, panel
discussions, interviews, etc. aired by the All India Radio Station, Nagpur.
Besides
being a multi-tasking individual on the profession front, her passion and success
is no less on the home turf as well. Jigisha is an excellent and innovative
cook too and is a strict vegetarian herself by values and her own preference. She also likes to paint and recently she has made the traditional Odisha Painting on silk cloth.
As
a selected member of the Rotary GSE voyage, Jigisha is committed with a strong
yearn to represent and reflect India in the minds and hearts of people of the
host countries, USA and Canada and to return richer on knowledge and experience
through this opportunity and interaction.
